The latest announcement rolled by Google for every business profile is that it will shut down the chat and call history feature on 31 July 2024. In detail, with the same information, Google will show a down chat from 15 July and also call history from 31 July 2024. So in concern to the same situation now your GMB (Google My Business) will not show a call history option after July, 31st. Viewers will be able to see your pictures, Website URLs, and

What to do now: Call History

Step 1 Find the records of your business profile call history and get it downloaded under Google Takeout. 

Note These records will be available for download until August 30, 2024.

Step 2 –  The call button on impacted Google Business Profiles will be updated automatically to use the merchant’s provided phone number.

Eligibility Criteria

Call history in Google Business Profile is currently under the phase of trial and error. You will find this feature available to a selective group of businesses in the US and Canada.

Understand how call history works

When the customer visits your profile and clicks on the ” CALL” button the call will show on your profile’s call’s tab. 

Next, when you turn the call history on the customers will connect to you through the forwarding number instead of the number on your profile. 

Important Note: When you link your Google Business Profile to a Google Ads account while turning on the profile’s history, you will see the calls that last longer than a particular time including an add click shown in the linked Google Ads account under the “Calls from Ads” conversion. Additionally, If you utilize smart bidding and have call conversions in your strategy, you can find a change in your ad spend.
